The menu at Porteño comes to you straight from the kitchens of Argentina via the imaginations and culinary artistry of chefs and owners, Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowicz.
Authenticity is the order of the day with the best meats in town prepared front and centre for all to see on a traditional Parilla (barbecue) and Asado (pit of fire). Both are expertly tended to by Porteño’s very own Goucho, Adan Abrahanowicz (yep, that’s Elvis’ dad) who has been barbecuing in this uniquely Argentinean style since he was old enough to play with fire... and he was an early starter! Just as well considering the slow cooked pig and lamb spend 8 hours splayed out over an ironwood bark fire before they hit your table.
Although the asado and parilla are no doubt the stars of the culinary show, non-red-meat-eaters need not despair. The menu also celebrates the great range of seafood available to us here in Sydney and well as a mouth-watering selection of vegetarian dishes that you’ll be fighting the carnivores for. No one ever leaves Porteño hungry!
The menu is also designed to be enjoyed in the traditional Argentinean way - by sharing. Order what you like and try a bit of everything. For larger groups (8 or more), a set menu is selected daily by our chefs to offer you the best assortment from the menu.
No meal would be complete without a good drop to accompany it. Our extensive and exclusively Argentinean wine list is carefully selected and our staff are trained in their selections so don’t be afraid to ask for guidance.
